Does the box lock?

It depends on the box. Most rear boxes for ATVs, the passenger seat boxes and some UTV boxes have two metal locks with keys. Front boxes, two small rear ATV boxes and many UTV bed boxes close with rubber latches, which hold the lid shut but have no key. Every product page says which one the box has.

Boxes with keyed locks

  • Rear ATV boxes for the Polaris Sportsman and Sportsman Touring, Can-Am Outlander (except the X mr) and Renegade, CFMOTO CFORCE, AODES PathCross, Segway Snarler, QJMOTOR SFA 1000 and GOES Terrox 1000
  • Passenger seat boxes
  • UTV boxes for the Polaris RZR XP, Can-Am Maverick Sport and Trail, and CFMOTO ZFORCE Z10

These boxes have two metal locks that open with a key. Locked, they keep the lid shut and pressed onto its rubber seal.

Boxes with rubber latches

  • Front boxes for the CFMOTO CFORCE 800/1000 and GOES Terrox 1000
  • Rear boxes for the Polaris Scrambler and the Can-Am Outlander X mr
  • UTV bed boxes for the Can-Am Maverick X3, Defender and Traxter, Honda Pioneer 700 and Talon, Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000, Yamaha YXZ1000R and AODES WorkCross 1000

Rubber latches press the lid firmly onto the seal and keep it closed, but they don’t lock: anyone can open them by hand.

How to check a particular box

On the product page, the Specs section has a “Locks” line. The “In the box” line lists what comes with the box, for example “2 metal locks with keys” or “2 rubber locks”.
